David Arquette: "I Am Not A Cheater"
at
8:48 AM
This morning, David Arquette called in to the Howard Stern Show to discuss the recent split from his wife Courtney Cox. Howard Stern was easily able to get his good friend Arquette to open up about his domestic troubles.
During the interview, Arquette said he is "the most faithful man", and he never cheated. He said that under the terms of his separation, both he and Courteney were allowed to see other people, but the agreement was being kept secret from the public. Arquette mentioned that the couple decided to go public with the separation because it was about to be revealed that he had been seen with another woman, and he did not want to be perceived as a cheater.
As Howard peppered his friend with wide ranging questions, Mr. Arquette said that he and his estranged wife are being "very sweet and kind to each other". "We're still working it out, we still love each other" said David. ""We're not divorced, we're separated. We are trying to figure our lives out."
Arquette did admit to sexual relations with one woman, but insisted it was within the restraints of the separation agreement, and said he would not be with that person again. He also denied reports that his wife did not come home one night after being accompanied by a "Cougar Town" co-star. "Hopefully it all works out, I've been begging Courteney to get back together".
Always the sympathetic ear, Howard suggested David should now begin to date Cox's former "Friends" co-star Jennifer Anniston, then summarily dump her for Angelina Jolie. That suggestion was followed up by a phone call from Stern Show Wack Packer, High Pitch Eric, who offered to take David out for a night on the town to help him forget his worries.
Unfortunately, Arquette declined the invitation. That's one party we would have liked to attend.
